Together, Let’s Grow the Future of Hockey!

Join us for the Junior Rangers Rookie Series, a program specially designed in cooperation with USA Hockey to introduce young beginners to the game of hockey. With help from Rangers Alumni and our staff, your child will experience the fun and excitement of hockey while learning the basic skills needed to enjoy the sport and have success both on and off the ice.

Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our Rangers fans. All programs will continue to be subject to the New York Rangers’ discretion, the CDC, and local government regulation as we return to play safely. There are limited spots available and a waitlist will be created once spots are filled.

Scholarships Are Now Available!

The Junior Rangers will provided families with access to full and partial scholarships for the Rookie League based on financial need.

Learn to Play (Ages 10 & Under)

Learn the basics!

Getting started in hockey has never been easier or more convenient! This introductory program will teach your child the basic skills of skating, stick-handling, passing and shooting through (10) 1-hour lessons. In addition, they will learn the importance of hardwork, teamwork and sportsmanship. Best of all, your child’s registration also includes a FREE brand new set of head to toe CCM hockey equipment custom fitted by our friends at Pure Hockey. Past participants are welcomed to join Learn to Play for another season or all three! However, they will not receive a set of equipment if they have participated in the program before.

Your program fee includes:

  • Free full set of equipment, including skates, for first time Learn to Play participants – This includes participation in a USA Hockey sanctioned program.
  • Family-friendly schedule with 10 weeks of 1-hour sessions
  • Professional instruction alongside Rangers staff
  • Special appearances by Rangers Alumni
  • 40 plus premier community rink partner locations across the Tri-State area

If you do not sign-up for your session of Learn to Play two-weeks prior to the start date of your session then we can’t guarantee you will receive your equipment before the first practice.

Rookie League (Ages 10 & Under)

Now that your child has the basics covered, let’s take it up a notch! Each player will have the chance to put their skills to the test in a fun and competitive environment. Participants will learn the basic game and team concepts, plus, they will build important characteristics on and off the ice: teamwork, responsibility, and respect. Twice a week, for 10 weeks, your child will have the opportunity to play games led by Rangers staff. It is a fun way to meet new teammates and play some hockey! At the end of the season, we will celebrate everyone’s accomplishments by hosting a Junior Rangers Jamboree for all of the players in the league.

Your league fee includes:

  • 1 game plus 1 practice a week per season
  • No long distance travel as all games are hosted at your local rink
  • Junior Rangers jersey (limited to your first registration)
  • Celebratory Junior Rangers Jamboree at the end of the season

*Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all on-ice sessions will be skill based practices until we are able to play full games again*
