A 52-year-old Wilmington woman won $250,000 after buying two Money Frenzy Instant Game tickets during a spur-of-the-moment trip.
“One of my neighbors who lives in my building and is a friend asked me to go to the store for them. While I was there, I figured I’d get a ticket or two for myself,” the woman said. “It was a total shock because I wasn’t supposed to go to the store that day.”
One of those tickets she bought at Windsor Market in Wilmington ended up winning her one of the game’s $250,000 top prizes.

“It’s not only great to see another big win in one of our instant scratch games,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery, “but it’s also heartening to see people lending each other a helping hand during these difficult times.”
The woman, who started playing the Delaware Lottery about two years ago, said this is her first big win. Her daughter was the first to hear her good news.
When asked what she was planning to do with the money, the woman said she plans on buying a handicap-accessible van and moving to a new home.
